The Conjuring 3 to begin in 2019

CE Features

The Conjuring universe seems to be on an ever-expanding spree. The original exorcists Ed and
Lorraine Warren are set to return for the third instalment of the franchise, the filming of which is expected to begin in 2019.

Warner Bros had officially greenlit the project in 2017 and asked The Conjuring 2 writer Davis Leslie Johnson to develop the third film. Peter Safran, the Conjuring franchise producer, in a recent interview to promote last week's release, The Nun, revealed that they were aiming for a 2020 release. Adding that the plot will pick up sometime after the events of Conjuring 2, Safran said that the film will not follow the regular haunted house formula.

However, it is still not confirmed if James Wan, the director of the first two Conjuring films will return to helm this venture.
