The Vijay Antony-starrer Thimuru Pudichavan is the newest addition to the Diwali race. The team met the press to promote their film ahead of its release on November 6. Speaking at the event Amma Creations T.Siva said," First I was skeptical when Vijay Antony told that he is going to release the film on Diwali. But after seeing the film, I'm confident that it'll be a hit. There are at least 25 whistle-worthy scenes in it."

Director of the film Ganeshaa said that no other hero would have accepted this role as it has a lot of bold and unconventional scenes. "Vijay Antony insisted on casting actors who hadn't got a proper breakthrough in cinema, as he felt that this film could change their career."

Vijay Antony who spoke last about the choice of the release date said,"It would be unjust to keep a film in the cans after its completion. So I've decided to go ahead and release it next week, despite the fact that my last two films weren't commercially successful. As the film's story also happens during Diwali, we felt there wouldn't be a better release date than this."

The composer-turned-actor has donned Khaki for the first time in the film. Co-starring Nivetha Pethuraj the film is produced by and has music by Vijay Antony himself.
