The talkie portions of the upcoming Ajith-starrer Viswasam have been completed and the film is on track for a Pongal release. There was much speculation that the producers might reconsider the release date following reports that Rajinikanth’s Petta might be released around the same time. The shooting of the Karthik Subbaraj-directorial was wrapped up 15 days ahead of schedule, sparking off rumours that the film will be ready for Pongal.

However, Viswasam's cinematographer, Vetri, has confirmed the film's release date, setting up the stage for a possible Rajinikanth-Ajith clash at the box office this Pongal.

With Ajith having completed dubbing for his portions in the film, the team of the Siva-directorial is said to be currently shooting the final song in Mumbai. The second look of Viswasam will be unveiled today.
