Arjun Reddy Hindi remake shooting starts

CE Features

The shooting of the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani began today in Mumbai. The yet-to-be-titled film is being helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also directed the original Telugu film.

Kiara Advani tweeted:

The original Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey, followed the misadventures of an alcoholic medical student who falls in love with one of his juniors. The film was a critical and commercial success and is regarded as a cult classic.

Speaking about the Hindi remake, Shahid had earlier shared, "I think the original film is very well-performed and well-directed. It had a very fresh treatment. I was slightly hesitant to do the remake since the original film was already so good and we didn’t want to spoil it. But it was providing me the opportunity to do something that was exciting and challenging. I felt greedy and picked up the role.”

Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Padmaavat. After Arjun Reddy, he is expected to star in the biopic of boxer Dingko Singh.
