While it was previously announced by Kamal Haasan that Indian 2 would be his last film before he took the plunge into politics full-time, in an interaction recently, the actor confirmed that he will also be working on a sequel to his 1992 cult classic, Thevar Magan

The actor who referred to the film as Thevar Magan 2 during the interaction, later, in a press meet, clarified that it will not be titled Thevar Magan 2. Kamal added that he hasn't decided the title yet for the film which will be bankrolled by his Raaj Kamal Films International, which also produced the original film.

Kamal specified that the sequel will be against the caste system. The film is expected to go on floors from next year. When asked if the Thevar Magan sequel will be his last film, the actor said that it "doesn't have to be" his last film either.
