According to reports, wrestler-turned-actor John Cena will be playing the lead in an upcoming comedy called Playing with Fire. Produced by Todd Garner and Sean Robins of Broken Road Productions, the film is based on a script bought by Paramount from Dan Ewen in February.

The story follows a group of rugged wildfire fighters who meet their match when they rescue a trio of exuberant children. Matt Lieberman, known for his writing on the TV series Nuclear Family and Viewers Like You, has been roped in to rewrite the script.

Cena, who was last seen in the comedy Blockers, is currently awaiting the release of another Paramount production, Bumblebee, as well as the films The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle and The Janson Directive.
