Flash standalone film postponed to 2021

CE Features

Looks like fans of DCEU have to wait longer to see the standalone Flash film. Though there hadn't been any news from the makers, it was speculated that the untitled film would go on floors from March next year, but with the final script yet to be locked, Warner Bros is said to have delayed the production.

Moreover, Ezra Miller, the actor who plays Flash, also plays an important role in the Harry Potter spin-off franchise, Fantastic Beasts, the third part of which is expected to start rolling in July 2019. Hence, the Flash film is now expected to commence production in late 2019, forcing the release date to be pushed to 2021.

Spider-Man: Homecoming-writer John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will be directing this upcoming Flash film. Meanwhile, next up in the DC universe will be Aquaman releasing this December, followed by the Wonder Woman sequel, Wonder Woman 1984. The studio also has a Suicide Squad follow-up and a Joker film with Joaquin Phoenix.
