Director and actor SA Chandrasekar commented today on his son, Vijay’s possible entry into politics, stating that there's nothing wrong in the latter taking the plunge.

Speaking to media persons at Papanasam today, Chandrasekar argued that there was nothing wrong if somebody who has been elevated by the people wants to do some good for them. The director was at Papansam to attend the Kaveri Pushkaram festival.

"As a Tamilian, I want Vijay to do good for his people by entering politics. Some people with vested interests seem to be scared of his political entry," SAC has been quoted as saying.

When contacted, SAC claimed that he had nothing more to add to his statements. "I will speak more after I return to Chennai," he said.

Interestingly, Vijay had hinted at an imminent political entry during the audio launch of his next film, Sarkar. The star had said that if given an opportunity to head the state, he would try to eliminate corruption first. In what seemed like a dig at the current political scenario, he had further added that corruption can be eliminated only if the ones in power and important positions are clean and incorruptible.

Also, it's worth noting that SAC had claimed, earlier this year in April, that this might not be the right time for Vijay to take the political plunge.
