Lyricist Vairamuthu has denied the sexual harassment accusation levelled against him by Chinmayi and others. He took to Twitter today to say, "The uncultured act of spreading falsehoods about famous people has become the culture in our country now. I have been continuously facing many insults in recent times and this latest (#MeToo accusations) is one among those. I do not take heed of such untrue statements. The truth will have its day."

In reply to Vairamuthu's statement, Chinmayi posted, "Liar!"

About the ongoing debates about the reliability of her claims, she tweeted:

Chinmayi, who had complained about Vairamuthu's inappropriate behaviour during an album launch in Switzerland, also posted a screenshot of a message she received from the program's organiser admitting that he was aware of the lyricist's "disgusting behaviour" towards her and saying that she could contact them for factual evidence.

She later shared an anonymous message from a girl who claims to have stayed in Vairamuthu's hostel, stating that his wife Ponmani would alert the girls to stay inside their rooms and wear shawls to escape from his lecherous sight.

While most of the people from the film industry have maintained silence over the issue, actors Samantha and Siddharth have tweeted in support of Chinmayi.

Siddharth meanwhile wrote:

The actor has also expressed his faith that the Tamil Nadu Producer Council and Nadigar Sangam will "come together soon and create a safe environment for survivors in this movement."

Apart from Vairamuthu, Chinmayi also shared messages from anonymous survivors complaining about dance master Kalyan, Ramesh Prabha, former president of Kalaignar TV network and musician Mandolin U Rajesh today.
