Comedian, lyricist and screenwriter Varun Grover is the latest celebrity to face sexual harassment allegations in the wake of the spreading #MeToo movement in India over the last two weeks. In anonymous messages shared via a Twitter user, a victim has alleged that Varun tried to sexual exploit her on the pretext of a dramatics rehearsal at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 2001.

Denying the allegations, Varun responded on Twitter saying:
