Lyca Productions officially confirmed that they will be producing the sequel to Indian (1996) on the occasion of Kamal Haasan's birthday (November 7). The latest we hear about this project is that the pre-production is officially underway. 

Art director, T Muthuraj, took to Twitter and shared a picture of the pooja with the caption: "Kick-started set work for Indian 2." Muthuraj, who started out as an assistant to Sabu Cyril and has previously worked with Shankar in Nanban (2012), is part of Rajinikanth's 2.0, which is awaiting release on November 29, and Sivakarthikeyan's next with Indru Netru Naalai-director Ravikumar. 

While Nayanthara and Kajal Aggarwal are speculated to play the female leads of Indian 2, Anirudh Ravichander is rumoured to be the film's music director and Ravi Varman the cinematographer. The film is expected to go on floors this December.
