The first look of the Tamil remake of Attarintiki Daredi, starring Simbu, was released on Tuesday. And with it, we have both a title and release date for the Sundar C directorial. The film is titled Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, a line made famous by Simbu in Maniratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. With the release set for Pongal, it looks like there will be a clash at the box office between this film and Ajith's Viswasam. 

Also starring Megha Akash, Catherine Tresa, Yogi Babu, Bigg Boss-fame Mahat, Ramya Krishnan and Robo Shankar, the Simbu-starrer has music by Hiphop Tamizha. A second look is expected to be released later this month. 

Attarintiki Daredi is a 2013 Telugu film starring Pawan Kalyan, Samantha and Pranitha in the lead and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The film has already been remade in Kannada as Ranna in 2015 and in Bengali as Abhimaan in 2016.
