In-demand comedian Yogi Babu is all set to make his debut as a lead in a full-fledged fantasy comedy titled Dharma Prabhu. The film is directed by Muthukumaran, who has recently wrapped the shoot of his debut film, Kanni Rasi, featuring Vemal and Varalaxmi as the leads.

Dharma Prabhu is reportedly set in the fictional world of Yamalokam, where Lord Yama's term of office is ending. When it is time to elect the next Yama, a tug of war begins between the family heir (Yogi Babu) and Indraguptan (Karunakaran), which sets in motion an avalanche of hilarious events.

Mahesh Muthuswamy is handling the cinematography, while Justin Prabhakaran has been signed to compose the music. The film, which will be shot in intricately-designed sets, is expected to go on floors in December.

Yogi Babu, meanwhile, has films like Sam Anton’s Gurkha, Ajith-starrer Viswasam, and Vijay's Sarkar in various stages of production. He will also be seen in a cameo in Jyotika-starrer Kaatrin Mozhi, helmed by Radha Mohan.
