Dhanush had revealed in a recent interaction that Vetrimaaran was currently occupied with the final edit work of his ambitious project, Vada Chennai. Jointly produced by Wunderbar Films and Lyca Productions, the film chronicles the lives of the residents of North Chennai over 35 years. Starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Samuthirakani, Andrea Jeremiah and Ameer Sultan in important roles, the film has music by Santhosh Narayanan. Vetrimaaran initially planned Vada Chennai as a trilogy, but later said he would take a call on the franchise after seeing the response to the first film. The project has faced numerous delays ever since it was announced. Vada Chennai is Vetrimaaran’s third film with Dhanush, after Polladhavan and Aadukalam. Meanwhile, Dhanush is awaiting the release of his Hollywood debut, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir.
