Inspired by the stupendous success of Mahanati, a biopic on legendary actor Savitri, speculations are rife that director Teja will work on a biopic soon. If the reports are anything to go by, the Nene Raju Nene Mantri director is planning an onscreen adaptation of late actor Uday Kiran’s life. A newcomer is expected to reprise the Manasantha Nuvve actor’s role in the film to be directed by Teja.

Uday Kiran, who made his acting debut with Teja’s Chitram (2000) at the age of 19, went onto become one of the promising young heroes of Telugu cinema with back-to-back hits. However, his career faded away due to flops and he felt sidelined in the industry. Unable to cope with depression, he committed suicide on January 5, 2014.

Teja was unavailable for commet.

Interestingly, the filmmaker was supposed to direct NTR’s biopic, but walked out of the project due to some differences with the producers.
