Geetu Mohandas' Moothon wrapped up

The film marks the director's Malayalam debut and stars Nivin Pauly, Shashank Arora, and Shobita Dhulipala

Filming has finally wrapped on director Geetu Mohandas' second project, Moothon. The film marks Geetu's first Malayalam film as director. Her debut feature, Liar's Dice, was in Hindi and featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Geetanjali Thapa.

Moothon is exciting for a number of reasons, one of them being the fact that acclaimed Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has penned the Hindi dialogues for the screenplay co-written by Mohandas.

Shot mostly in Lakshadweep and Mumbai, the film is about a teenager's search for his elder brother. Nivin Pauly plays the main lead, with the supporting cast comprised of such talented actors as Shashank Arora (Titli, Brahman Naman), and Shobita Dhulipala (Raman Raghav 2.0), among others.

Mohandas' husband Rajeev Ravi is the director of photography. Ravi is known for his long and fruitful collaboration with Kashyap, and has photographed all of Kashyap's films beginning with No Smoking to the recent Mukkabaaz.

Liar's Dice won two National Awards -- Best Actress for Geetanjali Thapa and Best cinematography for Rajeev Ravi -- and was India's official entry at the 2015 Oscars.
