Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson was originally supposed to produce and play the lead role in the action thriller, The Janson Directive, based on the Robert Ludlum book of the same name. But he had to opt out of acting in it due to other commitments.

It has come to light now that the actor's wrestling colleague in the WWE, John Cena has been signed to play the protagonist in the film.

Dwayne Johnson broke the news to his fans by posting a video on his Instagram account with the caption: "Found my star! Congrats to my good friend John Cena on landing the lead role in our movie, The Janson Directive. I’m excited to go on this journey with you. Thank you for your commitment to the role."

John Cena made his acting debut with the 2006 film, Marine. Following that he went on to act in the action thriller 12 rounds. The actor will star as Paul Janson, a former Consular Operations agent-turned-private security consultant in the film, which is expected to go on floors soon
