MLA is close to my heart: Kalyan Ram

Express Features

The pre-release event of Kalyan Ram and Kajal Aggarwal's MLA – Manchi Lakshanalunna Abbayi was held on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old actor who plays the titular role is confident of the film's success. "When director Upendra Madhav narrated the script, the excitement I felt was similar to that of Pataas. I'm really pleased with the way the film has shaped up and can vouch that the audience will sit back and enjoy seeing me, Kajal Aggarwal, Ravi Kishan and others perform. This kind of role comes rarely and I can proudly say Upendra has brought the best out of me. Hence, this film is really close to my heart. I'm thankful to my producers for believing in us and enhancing the span of our film," he said.

The glitzy event was also attended by actor Allari Naresh, directors Srinu Vaitla, VN Aditya, Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao, N Shankar, writer Kona Venkat, producer P Kiran and the cast and crew of the film.

Produced by Blue Planet Entertainments and People Media Factory, MLA is slated to release on March 23.
