Irrfan Khan announced yesterday that he is suffering from "a rare disease." The actor has been taking a break from work recently after news came that he had been diagnosed with jaundice.

A while back, director Vishal Bharadwaj had announced via a Facebook post that he was postponing the shoot of his film, starring Irrfan and Deepika Padukone, as both of his lead actors were ill. While it was assumed that he was only suffering from jaundice, it now appears that the actor has been fighting a more serious disease.

Irrfan took to Twitter yesterday to talk about his illness.

Irrfan has acted in numerous films in Hindi and has won the National Award for his role in the 2013 biopic Paan Singh Tomar. He has also worked in several Hollywood films like Life Of Pi, Slumdog Millionaire, Jurrasic World, and The Amazing Spider-Man.
