Vijay Deverakonda distances himself from Ye Mantram Vesave

The actor termed the film, which is scheduled for release on March 9, a 'backlog'

At a time when Vijay Deverakonda is enthusiastically promoting the release of Taxiwala, his other film, Ye Mantram Vesave, which has floundered for many reasons, has made a splash on video-sharing sites, with the release of the film’s trailer on Thursday, much to the dismay of the actor.

Shot five years ago, there’s no clear reason why it wasn’t released and Vijay, who has moved on to other projects, seems to have cryptically distanced himself away from it, with a tweet. Calling Ye Mantram Vesave a backlog, Vijay wrote, “I do have backlogs. Although I don’t want my parents to know about it, it’s trending on YouTube after five years.”

Whatever the reasons, the actor dissociating himself from the promotions with the tweet has sent shock waves and got people talking.

Meanwhile, the reactions to the film’s trailer have been underwhelming. Directed by Shridhar Marri and presented by Malkapuram Siva Kumar, Ye Mantram Vesave is slated for release on March 9 sans Vijay’s support.
