After his critically acclaimed score for Priyadarshan’s Nimir, Darbuka Siva has signed his next with Arulnithi. The yet-to-be-titled film will be directed by Barath Neelakantan, a former associate of Arun Vaidiyanathan, who made the Arjun-starrer Nibunan. The principal cast and crew of the project bankrolled by SP Cinemas is expected to be revealed soon. Touted to be a thriller, the shoot of the film is planned to be wrapped up before the end of this year.

Darbuka Siva made his debut in Kollywood as an actor through the 2015 heist film Rajathandhiram, a year before composing music for his first film, Kidari. He has continued to act in films like Mo and Thodari, despite his musical commitments. The composer rose to fame through the song Maruvarthai Pesadhe from Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thota. He has also been signed for Pelli Choopulu’s Tamil remake, Pon Ondru Kandein.

Meanwhile, Arulnithi, who was last seen in the murder mystery Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, directed by Mu Maran, also has Karu Pazhaniappan’s Pugazhendhi Enum Naan in his kitty.
