For years now, it was said that director Venkat Prabhu would work with Simbu on a film. It was also reported that it would be Billa 3 - another take on the famous don bought to screen by Rajinikanth and Ajith. Simbu also made a cameo appearance in Venkat Prabhu's Goa. Now it's said that they're finally coming together for a project, though it's not Billa 3. 

A source says that the film will be a joint production between Kalaipuli S Thanu and Suresh Kamachi. It's also stated that AR Rahman might compose music for this film. 

Meanwhile, Venkat Prabhu is currently awaiting the release of Party, while Simbu has Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, followed by his English directorial, a film with Vijaya Productions, and the sequel to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa with Gautham Menon (titled Vinnaithaandi Varuven), in the pipeline.
