Siddharth's next to go on floors from July

The film has Catherine Tresa playing the female lead

Gopinath Rajendran

Last seen in the Malayalam film Kammara Sambhavam earlier this year, Siddharth has signed his next which is to be produced by R Ravindran of Trident Arts. This will be the third film for Trident Arts after Prabhudheva-starrer Lakshmi and the untitled film starring Vikram and Akshara Haasan.

The Siddarth-starrer, featuring Catherine Tresa as the female lead, is directed by debutant director Sai Sekar. Talking to CE, the director says, "It'll be a commercial film that will be loved by people of all ages. I've studied and developed the lead characters for over a year. I felt that Siddharth and Catherine Tresa would be perfect for these roles. There's also another important character which we've kept as a suspense and that character's backstory will be really hard-hitting."

The film also stars Sathish, Kaali Venkat, Aadukalam Naren, Madhusudhan Rao and Kabir Singh (who was seen in Vedalam and Rekka). "The project will go on floors from July 13, with the first schedule shot in Chennai for about 20 days, followed by a schedule in Puducherry. The rest of the film will be shot throughout India," says the director, adding that the title of the film will be announced soon. Thaman will be the film's music director, while Dinesh Ponraj will be the editor.
