Arulnithi Tamilarasu, whose last release was Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, has signed a thriller next, directed by newcomer Barath Neelakantan.

Barath, who worked as an associate director with Arun Vaidyanathan in Nibunan, tells CE, "I have been writing multiple scripts, and I thought this one would suit Arulnithi. Usually, he doesn't listen to scripts alone. He brings in 10-15 people and decides if he wants to do a project based on the consensus. The whole process was interesting for me because I met a lot of people from different walks of lives, and everyone liked my script."

He adds that he's not at liberty to reveal more about his film. "I met Arul last November, and we've been discussing ideas. This is a technically-sound script with a lot of scope for actors to perform."

This untitled film is produced by SP Cinemas. The makers are planning to finish the film in a single schedule, and will start shooting post July.

Meanwhile, Arulnithi also has Pugazhendhi Enum Naan in the pipeline.
