Last seen in Avengers: Infinity War, Zoe Saldana has completed shooting her portions in the upcoming films, Avatar 2 and Avatar 3. The actor will be reprising her role as Neytri, the Na'vi girl who fell in love with Sam Worthington's Sully in the first film.

Other actors who have been retained for the forthcoming instalments include Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Stephen Lang as villain Miles Queritch, and Sigourney Weaver as Dr Grace Augustine. A grand addition to the cast of the new films is Kate Winslet, who will be playing a character named Ronal, a member of the Sea people.

James Cameron's Avatar became the highest-grossing film upon release in 2009 and went on to win three Academy Awards. The director revealed in a recent press interaction that the concurrently shot sequels are on the 130th day of performance capture and it will take two more years for the team to come out with the final output.

Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 are scheduled to be released internationally on December 18, 2020, and December 17, 2021, respectively.
