Talking about working with the actor, director Ken Scott says, "I've discovered a great actor and an amazing personality in Dhanush. It was a great experience during the Paris premiere and the press screenings to realise that the French audience and media felt the same delight and sense of wonder about him, after watching the film."

The film, which will be dubbed and released in Tamil as Vazhkaiya Thedi Naanum Poren in July, received a standing ovation during its premiere in France.

The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, also starring international actors like Berenice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi, Erin Moriarty and Abel Jafri, is based on the book written by the French novelist Romain Puertolas.
