It is well known that a sequel to Wonder Woman is in the making and Patty Jenkins will once again helm the film. Though there were several fan theories about the time period the film will be set in, there had been no confirmation from the makers. But now, executive producer of Wonder Woman, Geoff Johns, has teased the audience by sharing an image saying WW84 on social media hinting that the period superhero film will be set in 1984. Following him, the film's director Patty Jenkins also changed the background of her Twitter account to feature the same logo. Interestingly, the first Wonder Woman film was set in 1917 during World War I.

The iconic DC comics superhero was introduced to the cinematic universe through Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and got a solo film in 2017. Though Gal Gadot initially faced a lot of criticism when it was announced that she would be donning the role, she managed to convince the audience and critics with her performance.

Wonder Woman 2 has Kristen Wiig playing the antagonist Cheetah, and the film is scheduled to hit the screens on November 1, 2019.
