Pokkiri Raja sequel titled Madhura Raja

Produced by Nelson IPE under the banner of Nelson IPE Cinemas, the film is expected to go on floors on August 9

Director Vysakh and scriptwriter Udayakrishna are returning for the sequel to Mammootty's 2010 hit Pokkiri Raja, which has been titled Madhura Raja. The original also starred Prithviraj in a supporting role. However, the actor won't be back this time. Filming is reportedly set to begin on August 9.

Anusree, Mahima Nambiar and Shamna Kasim have been roped in to play the female leads. As per reports, Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu, who appeared in Pranav Mohanlal's Aadhi, will appear alongside Tamil actor Jai, Salim Kumar, Aju Varghese, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Vijayaraghavan and Siddique. Peter Hein is the stunt choreographer for the film produced by Nelson IPE under the banner of Nelson IPE Cinemas. 

Meanwhile, Mammootty's Oru Kuttanadan Blog is set for release this Onam. Directed by scriptwriter-turned-director Sethu, the film features Anu Sithara, Raai Laxmi, Shamna Kasim and Sunny Wayne among others.
