The two are collaborating for the third time after Polladhavanand Aadukalam for this film, which is said to be the first part of a trilogy. It's worth noting that the film was in pre-production stage for years as shooting schedules were delayed due to several factors including Visaaranai getting nominated for Oscars, and Dhanush's commitments.
