After the highly successful soundtrack of Mersal, lyricist Vivek will be joining hands with AR Rahman once again for Vijay's upcoming film, Sarkar. The lyricist took to Twitter to break the news. "I will be writing all the songs in Sarkar. It's a blessing to be learning from and writing for the Master AR Rahman sir. I must thank Vijay sir for being a pillar of support and for being the sweetheart that he is. Feels special to work for  AR Murugadoss sir and his strong content," he wrote. 

Vivek's lyrics in Mersal, especially for Aalaporaan Tamizhan, were lauded by everyone and that track became one of the most played songs of last year.

The shoot of Sarkar is expected to be wrapped up in August and the Sun Pictures production venture is scheduled to hit the screens on Diwali. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film, featuring Keerthy Suresh as the female lead, also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Radha Ravi, Pazha Karuppiah, Yogi Babu and Prem Kumar in important roles. The cinematography and editing of the film are handled by Girish Gangadharan and Sreekar Prasad, respectively.
