Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival

The film revolves around a spirited girl who finds herself caught in a complicated love triangle

Manmarziyaan, directed by Anurag Kashyap and starring Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which will run from September 6 to 16. The filmmaker announced the news on Twitter. "Manmarziyaan aka Husband Material premieres at TIFF before releasing on September 21," he wrote.

Written by Kanika Dhillon, and jointly produced by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, the film revolves around a spirited girl who finds herself caught in a complicated love triangle while burdened with societal and familial pressures.

The Dev Patil-starrer, Hotel Mumbai, based on the 2008 terrorist attacks on the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai, and Nandita Das' Manto, which garnered rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival, will also be screened at the festival.

Among the world premieres at the festival this year are Felix Van Groeningen's Beautiful Boy, starring Steve Carell and Timothee Chalamet; Steve McQueen's Widows; Peter Hedges' Julia Roberts-starrer Ben Is Back; Barry Jenkins' If Beale Street Could Talk; and the Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem-starrer Everybody knows, directed by Academy Award winner, Asghar Farhadi.
