Kanden director AC Mugil's upcoming cop film with Prabhudheva in the lead has been titled Pon Manickavel. The film marks the actor-director's first role as a police officer. Incidentally, Pon Manickavel is also the name of the Tamil Nadu Inspector General (IG) who became famous for arresting idol smugglers in the state. 

With Nivetha Pethuraj playing the lead, Pon Manickavel also stars director Mahendran and Suresh Chandra Menon. The Nemichand Jhabak production venture has music by D Imman and is touted to be an action thriller. 

Apart from this film, Prabhudheva is also has Yung Mung Sung, Lakshmi, and Charlie Chaplin 2, in various stages of production. He will also return to directing through Salman Khan's Dabangg 3.
