Noted music composer Gopi Sundar is set to make his acting debut with a Malayalam film called Toll Gate. According to writer-director Harikrishnan, it's a road movie based on a real-life man missing case. Poorna, Sujith Shankar, Rahul Madhav and Harikrishnan S will be playing important characters alongside the Bangalore Naatkal music director. 

While Gopi has primarily worked in the Malayalam industry, he has also composed the music for several Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. His first Malayalam film was Notebook, directed by Roshan Andrrews. His first Tamil project was director Vijay's Poi Solla Porom. He got the opportunity to work in Hindi after Priyadarshan called him to provide the background score for Dhol.

In addition to playing the main character in Toll Gate, Gopi is also composing the music of the film. Jithu Damodar is handling the cinematography of the project that is bankrolled by Hazeena Salam under the banner of Eyya Productions.
