While we were awaiting updates on Dhruv’s (Vikram’s son) upcoming debut film Varma, the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy, it’s now known that the young actor is already gearing up to make his Telugu debut. The film will be helmed by director Sekhar Kammula and is billed to be a dance subject.

“Kammula is reportedly impressed with the looks of Dhruv and is convinced that the 22-year-old would bring in a lot of freshness to the film,” says a source. “Vikram was also looking for a seasoned director who could give a perfect launchpad for his son. The discussions were fruitful and the duo has reached an agreement in principle to introduce Dhruv in Telugu cinema with this film.”

Known for introducing actors like Nikhil, Varun Sandesh, Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi in Telugu, Kammula, who is also producing this untitled film, will make an official announcement in August. Incidentally, Dhruv’s maiden Tamil and Telugu films are being helmed by national-award winning directors — Bala and Kammula.
