Hollywood star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson recently took to social media to reassure fans that his upcoming film, Skyscraper, will accurately depict Chinese people and culture.

While promoting the film in China, the actor met a young girl who had expressed her love for the actor in English. Moved by this gesture, Johnson posted a video of the girl on Instagram, and said that his team's goal (with respect to Skyscraper) was always to make a cross-cultural film that properly represented the Chinese people and culture. He also highlighted the efforts taken by his team to portray the film's anchor - a mixed-race family doing all they can to survive and stay together - properly.

Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the action-thriller is scheduled for release in the US this Friday. The film will hit Indian screens on July 20 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
