CE Features

Last seen in Raj Kumar Gupta’s Raid, Ajay Devgn has his hands full with an interesting line-up of films. It was recently confirmed that he will star alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Luv Ranjan’s yet-to-be-titled film, and he also has Total Dhamaal coming up for release later this year.

Now, the actor has been roped in to play the titular role in Neeraj Pandey's next, titled Chanakya. Ajay recently tweeted, "Looking forward to playing Chanakya, a film about one of the greatest thinkers in Indian history."

Produced by Reliance Entertainment and Friday Filmworks' Plan C Studios, Chanakya is based on the life and teachings of political strategist, philosopher, economist and royal advisor Vishnu Gupta, who was also known as Kautilya. He is considered the pioneer of the field of political science and economics in India, and his work is thought of as an important precursor to classical economics.

Other details about the film are still being kept under wraps.
