Simbu's next with Venkat Prabhu titled Maanaadu

CE Features

We had earlier told you that Venkat Prabhu's next directorial after Party, was not titled Adhiradi as was rumoured, and that the filmmaker was coming up with a fresh and unexpected title. The filmmaker took to Twitter yesterday to share the title of the film, Maanaadu, along with a poster.

The poster carries the quote, "Stand for what is right, even if it means standing alone," with silhouettes of leaders like Netaji and Ambedkar in the background. Going by the poster and the title, the film is expected to be a full-fledged political thriller. Maanaadu will likely go on floors soon as the poster announces the release date as Summer 2019.

Speaking about the film Simbu says, "I am extremely happy that this combination is finally happening, as we've been waiting for this for many years. Though it is a political film, it is definitely not made with any intention of me venturing into politics. But, at the same time, the film will boldly speak about certain things which need to be addressed."

Apart from this film Simbu, who recently wrapped shooting for Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, has Vinnaithaandi Varuven with Gautham Menon, his English directorial, and a film with Vijaya productions in the pipeline. Venkat Prabhu, on the other hand, is busy with the post-production work of Party, with the aim of releasing it right after Vishwaroopam 2 in August.
