Prithviraj has announced July 16 as the beginning of the shoot for his directorial debut, Lucifer, starring Mohanlal. This news was revealed along with the first look poster on Saturday. The teaser poster came with the tagline, 'Blood. Brotherhood. Betrayal', and features a man (supposedly Mohanlal) in white traditional attire with his face hidden.

Mohanlal's frequent collaborator Antony Perumbavoor is producing Lucifer under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Murali Gopy has written the screenplay, while Sujith Vaassudev (Ezra) is the cinematographer and Deepak Dev (Chronic Bachelor) is the music director.
