We had previously reported that Mysskin, after the success of Thupparivaalan, would direct Shanthnu in a film produced by Libra Productions. It was also announced that PC Sreeram would be the film's cinematographer and AR Rahman was said have been roped in as the composer. A source close to the director has now revealed that the project could not take off due to many reasons. The source also added that Udhayanidhi Stalin has been approached to play the lead for the same script and the film will go on floors from August. 

While it was speculated that Udhay would also be producing the film, it's learnt that a debutant producer will bankroll this project. The untitled film is said to be a thriller made in Mysskin's trademark style. 

Meanwhile, Udhayanidhi's next release will be Kanne Kalaimaane, followed by a film directed by Atlee's associate Enoc.
