Director R Ravikumar's ambitious sci-fi project starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, is getting bigger by the day. Having roped in Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman for the music, the makers 24 AM Studios also signed acclaimed cinematographer Nirav Shah for their film.

Now, it is learnt that Nirav Shah will be using the Alexa LF camera for the first time in Indian cinema for this untitled film. The Alexa Large Format camera system, which was recently unveiled at the 2018 BSC Expo in London, comes with 16-large format signature prime lenses. The camera facilitates shallow depth of field, and gives subjects heightened presence in the frame, giving the much-sought-after, immersive 3D feel to the images.

It is believed that the Tamil-Telugu bilingual, touted to be a science-fiction fantasy involving aliens, will benefit immensely from such immersive visuals. Interestingly, globally-renowned cinematographers like Oscar-nominee Dan Laustsen, Wang Yu, Tom Fahrmann, and Matias Boucard have recently shot with the Alexa LF.
