Actor Mehreen Pirzada has shot down rampant rumours about her recent trip to the US. Reportedly, a section of media alleged that the Raja The Great actor gave them an interview and stated that she has lashed out at media for dragging her name in the Tollywood sex racket that was recently unearthed in Chicago. The actor took to Twitter to shun the rumours and asserted that she has not given any such interview.

“This story is factually wrong, I have not given any such interview. I have a very good rapport with the media as they have always treated me extremely well,” tweeted Mehreen.

The actor also added that she missed the pre-release event of her upcoming film Pantham as she was in Mumbai and suffering from viral fever. She also revealed that she was questioned by the US border officials when they came to know that she was an actor from the Telugu film industry while she was travelling with her family from Vancouver to Las Vegas for a weekend holiday.

It was then that she was told about the illegitimate scandal. The officials later apologised to her before allowing her to travel without any hassle. “The fact that I was embarrassed by the situation and very shaken up is a personal thing,” she added.

Revealing her heartache following some statements from the people, who are trying to bring disrepute to Tollywood, she stated, “It pains me that the actions of a few bad people have tarnished the image of a vibrant and thriving industry. I hope the perpetrators of this scandal are punished as they deserve to be.”
