Director Seenu Ramasamy, who wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming romantic drama film Kanne Kalaimaane, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Tamannaah, in a single forty-five-day schedule, is presently busy with its post-production work. The Thenmerku Paruvakaatru-director took to Twitter on Sunday to state that he will be dedicating the film to the legendary poet and lyricist Kannadasan.

Speaking to CE, the director says, “Producer and actor Udhayanidhi Stalin and I would like to dedicate this film, which happens to be my sixth, to Kannadasan sir. The title is from a song from my guru (late director) Balu Mahendra’s Moondram Pirai. Composed by Ilaiyaraaja, the song was Kannadasan sir’s last song and it’s an apt title for my film.”

The veteran lyricist’s grandson and actor Aadhav thanked Seenu Ramasamy for the dedication and tweeted that the song is very close to his family.

The director is currently working on the background score of Kanne Kalaimaane, which is expected to hit the screens in August. Produced by Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies, the film’s audio launch will happen later this month. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing music for this film which will mark his third collaboration with the director.
