Manikarnika official release date yet to be announced

The period film starring Kangana Ranaut is currently facing opposition from the Brahmin outfit called Sarva Brahman Mahasabha.

The makers of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi on Thursday said the film's release date is yet to be announced.

The clarification has come amidst rumours that its release has been shifted from April to August.

The film is based on the valiant Rani Laxmibai.

It is currently in the news following allegations by the Brahmin outfit, Sarva Brahman Mahasabha, that it distorts historical facts. The outfit has demanded that the makers share complete details of the film's story to rule out any tampering with facts.

The makers released a statement on Thursday quashing all such reports around the release of the film.

The statement read: "This is with regard to rumours doing the rounds that Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi will now be releasing on August 3rd. The producers of the film, Kamal Jain and Zee Studios haven't officially announced the release date yet."

The project features Kangana Ranaut in the lead role.
