Peta, the dubbed version of Superstar Rajinikanth's Tamil action entertainer Petta, is releasing in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously during Sankranthi. Directed by Pizza-fame Karthik Subbaraj, the film will hit the screens on January 10, a day after NTR's biopic Kathanayakudu and a day before Ram Charan-starrer Vinaya Vidheya Rama.

Incidentally, Peta is Rajini’s second film to release during Sankranthi, after Baasha (1995). "Peta is special in many ways. The film boasts of stellar star cast and was shot extensively in a hill station like Darjeeling. After 24 years, a Rajini film is releasing simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil during Sankranthi. The theatrical trailer will be released at the pre-release event to be held amidst fanfare in the first week of January," says Vallabhaneni Ashok, who is releasing the Telugu version. Music of Peta is by Anirudh Ravichander.
