With multiple filmmakers announcing biopics on late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, it looks like yet another director has thrown his hat into the fray. Gautham Menon said to be helming a web series starring Ramya Krishnan as Jayalalithaa, Indrajith Sukumaran as MG Ramachandran and Vamsi Krishnan as Sobhan Babu. A source close to the unit says that a grand set has been constructed for the web series and pivotal scenes have been shot already. An official announcement on the series is expected to be made soon along with the first look teaser.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time Gautham Menon has ventured into other platforms. The filmmaker has previously produced music videos for YouTube and has also bankrolled the web series, Weekend Machan. He is currently awaiting the release of Enai Noki Paayum Thota, and also has the filming of the rest of Dhruva Natchathiram pending.

While directors Vijay, Bharathiraaja, Lingusamy, and Myskkin’s erstwhile assistant, Priyadharshini, have all announced biopics on Jayalalithaa, Priyadharshini is the only one to have released the first look poster of her project, featuring Nithya Menen.
