Geetha Govindam is Vijay’s landmark film, says Chiru

The team of Vijay Deverakonda’s Geetha Govindam are on a cloud nine after the film has been declared a blockbuster. To mark the occasion, the makers came together for a success meet in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Recalling his Khaidi days, Megastar Chiranjeevi, who presided over the event as the chief guest, said, “Allu Aravind was cynical as to whether the audience will accept Vijay (Deverakonda) in a sober role after Arjun Reddy. I told him that right after Khaidi, I did Vijetha when I was hailed as an action hero. That film brought me closer to the family audience. Similarly, Vijay has become the hero of all sections with Geetha Govindam. Just like I rose to stardom with Khaidi, the success of Geetha Govindam has consolidated the position of Vijay Deverakonda in the industry. It’s his landmark film. He is one of the top actors of our industry. He should now be cautious (in picking the right scripts).”

The Megastar also heaped praises on director Parasuram, comedians Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna and the female lead Rashmika Mandanna, who was conspicuous by her absence. Interestingly, Vijay showcased his dancing skills as he performed on the stage to one of the popular tracks from the film.
