Vivek Oberoi feels he was destined to do a film with Shivarajkumar

The actor plays a police officer in the Shivarajkumar-starrer, Rustum

Vivek Oberoi will be seen playing the role of a police officer in Rustum, also starring Shivarajkumar. This will be the actor's Kannada debut.

“I think I was destined to do a film with Shiva anna and I think it will definitely turn out to be one of the great and memorable experiences of my career. That’s why I decided to do a special appearance in the film,” says Vivek, who has featured in films like Company, Saathiya and Omkara.

According to a source, when Vivek was 16 or 17 years old, he met Shivanna for the first time when the latter was shooting for a film. “Vivek went to meet him on his film set with a family friend. Shivanna was the first one who offered a film to him. Even though Vivek politely declined since he was not ready for his acting debut then, he was extremely touched by Shivarajkumar’s kind gesture,” shares the source.

“Vivek always stands by his friends and never forgets things they do for him. So the moment he was told it’s Shivanna’s film, he didn’t even hear the script and immediately agreed to be part of it,” the source adds.
