Braveheart-star Mel Gibson and Total Recall-fame Colin Farrell will be joining hands in the upcoming revenge thriller, War Pigs. The film, bankrolled by Di Bonaventura Productions, along with Matt Berenson, is directed by Tommy Wirkola, who has helmed films like Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and What Happened to Monday.

War Pigs, written by Nick Ball and John Niven, revolves around a group of disappointed ex-marines who go on one last mission to take revenge on the cartel that murdered their colleague and robbed their drug money. The film is expected to go on floors this October.

Mel Gibson is currently busy with his directorial venture, Destroyer, a World War II film based on the John Wukovits book, Hell From the Heavens: The Epic Story of the USS Laffey and World War II’s Greatest Kamikaze Attack. Farrell, meanwhile, has Steve McQueen’s Widows and Tim Burton’s Dumbo in the pipeline.
