Cochin Film Society to screen films of Sudevan

It will be screened at Children's Park Theatre on Sunday

The films of critically acclaimed filmmaker Sudevan will be screened by the Cochin Film Society at the Children's Park Theatre on Sunday. Four short films and two feature films will be screened. Sudevan's short films Varu, Planning, Rendu and Thattumporathappan will be screened after 2 pm.

Sudevan's feature films CR No: 89 and Akatho Puratho will be screened at 4 pm and 5.30 pm respectively.

CR No: 89 revolves around a mechanic who encounters a gang whose jeep, which carries weapons, breaks down in the middle of the night. The film won a Kerala State Award for Best Film in 2013 and another one for Best Second Actor for Ashok Kumar.

Akatho Puratho, which is Sudevan's latest film, is an anthology of four short films named Paava, Vridhan, Aval and Mathsyam. The anthology revolves around four characters. Paava is the story of a wooden doll; Vridhan is about an eldery man who is near death; Aval narrates the tale of a woman stuck between her husband and her lover; and Mathsyam is told from the perspective of a fish.
