Khushbu will be making her comeback in Kannada cinema after eight years with Appa Amma Preethi, the directorial debut of Sridhar. The film features Vinay Rajkumar in the lead and Malayalam actor Manasa Radhakrishnan, who's looking to establish herself in Kannada cinema. As earlier reported, real-life couple Radhika and Sarathkumar were to play pivotal roles in the film, but a date clash in Radhika's schedule seems to have left the makers with no option but to find a replacement.

Khusbu will play this character opposite Sarathkumar. Incidentally, her last Kannada film was Janani released in 2010. Khushbu has reportedly already had talks with Vinay's father and actor Raghavendra Rajkumar about the film. The film has Judah Sandy as music director, Lavith of Rama Rama Re as cinematographer, and Srikanth as editor.
